Having a strange sound problem with my new Linux Mint 13 install on my Dell 6000. Login and Logout sounds are heard but I get no audio from video or audio programs.
Have no problems with my Acer Aspire One.
Strange
I'll have to go spend some time on the Linux Mint forums and see what I can find out.

For whatever reason, sound is working fine now. I did stop using SMPlayer.
