Hmm, don't know where to start this post.
I will be 50 this year. Michael Jordan has his 50th today. Michael Jordan, 50. That just blows me away. I never put together that he was the same age as I was. For what ever reason, I always pictured him younger that I was. Why, I don't know, but I did.
Earlier today I read this great article on ESPN by Wright Thompson and Michael's turning 50. Even though we live in two different worlds, what he is feeling rings true with me. From needing reading glasses -- although, I have admitted to needed them and he is still holding off -- to wanting to know where certain keepsakes are. I relate.
So, I get home tonight and go to ESPN to get the link to share with you.
Not!
I go to ESPN and click on their link for the article for not. 404 error. ![]()
WTF?
I was going to write up this great profound post of aging and now I can't because ESPN pissed me off to the extent I can't remember what I was going to write.*
Anyway, I will follow up on ESPN tomorrow and see if they fix the link. IMHO it is worth reading.
* It probably wouldn't have been profound at all, just a sharing of the article, but ESPN fucking ruined it. Wait, no, it was going to be profound. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. ![]()
~ Update ~
Ah, the article is back now.
Michael Jordan Has Not Left The Building
It's a good read.

Love this photo.

.. how many folks spend the time to create logins for the sole purpose of spamming the comment section.
1. I require email verification for a login to work.
2. I have to approve the publishing of comments. All their comments get deleted before they are seen by anyone.
3. I am lucky to get 160 hits in a day. This site ain't a big draw.
4. Once they use a login to spam, it gets deleted. Now they have to create another one.
I can't quite figure out how it is worth their time.

LMAO -- There are already 21 spam comments on this post alone.

Now I am really LMAO -- some tool just tried posting 30 comments selling NFL jerseys.
What the fuck NBC? On a Sunday night you cut off coverage of the Closing Ceremony for some stupid new show. You really think it is better than The Who, Ray Davies and Muse playing to official song of this Olympics.
Fail NBC.
It's time to put aside politics and reinstate the federal ban on assault weapons.
I just signed a petition urging President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney to ask Congress to reinstate the expired federal assault weapon ban today. I hope you will join the cause by signing the petition.
I think it is preposterous that we can discuss banning costumes in movie theaters, but it is not the right time to discuss banning assault weapons. That my friends is the definition of insanity!
Harry Reid has said the Senate doesn't have time in its tight schedule to discuss gun control. Bullshit! If he wasn't scared of the NRA, he would find the time.
It says a lot when he dismisses whether there would be time next year.
You have blood on your hands Harry Reid!
... depravity in America starts with the acts of people like Westboro Baptist Church. Their act of photoshopping photos of the vigil in Aurora and their threat to picket the funerals of those that died I find despicable. When people use religion as an excuse to do this sort of thing here, it is no wonder America is sinking lower and lower.
A few weeks ago a friend of mine asked me what I thought would be the downfall of this country.
I answered "The Economy."
I'm not sure anymore.
The more I think about it, I feel it is the attitude taking over the country, and specifically Washington D.C., of "My way or the highway."
As long as comprimise takes a back seat in politics, I feel we are collectively fucked as a country.
The panel is frustrating me a bit. I can't figure out how to resize it. On Gnome 2 I had it auto resize so it was centered on the top of the screen. Since I use multiple virtual desktops I don't have it tell me which windows are open and just have it tell me date, weather and the notification applet.
Also, I can't get the weather applet to work. Well, it works and shows up, I just can't figure out how the get the location to set. It's just blank. Argh.

Woo-hoo, got the weather applet working. I guess I just didn't install it right. Third times the charm. As a cyclist with no smart phone, I like being able to see the temp on the panel. I don't have to pull up the NWS website that way.
